Introducing PayPal Mobile

Filed under: Viira, blackberry — admin @ 8:23 pm

Here at Karta Mobile we love our BlackBerries. Sure, we love them for their design, aesthetics and the convenience they bring, but what we love the most is finding novel ways to put them to work for us.

That’s why when we heard about this new way of processing payments called PayPal Mobile we immediately got ourselves busy trying to make it a reality for our paying customers (thanks to all of you, your support in making Viira a better product is truly appreciated!).

I am proud to announce that the PayPal Mobile integration work is now complete. Starting today you can buy the full version of Viira right from your BlackBerry. Just select “Buy Viira” from the Free Trial’s context menu and your BlackBerry browser will take you through an expedited, 2 page checkout with PayPal Mobile.

PayPal Mobile gives the same familiar PayPal checkout process, but done from your BlackBerry. How cool is that?! And as an added convenience we send you the full version of Viira over-the-air (OTA) right after the checkout is complete.

Of course, we still send you a payment confirmation email with the link to download the Viira ZIP file. You might need it, either as a backup or because you are one of those lucky ones who might be upgrading to a new BlackBerry (like a Bold or even a Thunder/Storm!) in the coming weeks or months.

What makes PayPal Mobile even cooler in our eyes is that it allows you to associate your BlackBerry’s phone number with your PayPal account so instead of typing in your email address and password you can type your phone number and a 4-digit PIN instead. This can make things extra convenient, especially for anyone with a Pearl or the super cool new Pearl Flip 8220 (a.ka. BlackBerry Kickstart).

In fact, PayPal Mobile has been such a hit amongst us because of its speed and convenience that it has become the official way for us to settle lunch tabs between ourselves. And we are all for convenience, especially if it involves using our BlackBerries.
